Your newpany is a family run civil engineering contractor who specialise in civil projects including groundworks, street and roadworks, utilities, leisure and recreation projects, cycle path & playparks, drainage and watermain installations. Thispany has been steadily growing over the last 10 years and has worked with many reputable names within the construction industry. Due to ongoing works and being awarded new projects this employer is looking for a Junior Site Engineer to join their strong and stable team.
Your new role
As the site engineer on site, you will work closely with the contracts manager, site foreman and sub-contractors to coordinate works and maintain quality standards. The bulk of your work will bepleting setting out duties using a Total Station and GPS. You will be given guidance when reading and interpreting architectural drawings and then practically applying these drawings to day-to-day operations on site. You will liaise with clients, engineers and architects to ensure successful project delivery and to maintain and build good business relations.
The initial project will include a road realignment and groundworks scheme based on a £multi-million education project in Co. Armagh.
What you'll need to succeed
Technical knowledge of all surveying equipment and good understanding of the construction industry will give you the foundations to be successful in this role. Previous site engineering experience will be beneficial and knowledge of construction methods and techniques, with a focus on groundworks will be extremely advantageous. Attention to detail and strongmunication skills will be required, as well as a third level qualification / degree in a construction related field. You must also be capable of working in a team environment as well as on your own.
