ABOUT THE ROLE
Available Contract Dates - 27/06/2025 - 09/08/2025 (4-6 weeks starting June 27th or July 4th)
Salary (depending on qualifications and experience): From £675 per week (£602 + 12.07 % holiday pay)
OVERVIEW:
Academy Head Coaches are responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive and successful coaching programme whilst ensuring players' safety, well-being and enjoyment during coaching sessions. Head Coaches will lead, guide and support a team of Coaches and Assistant Coaches to ensure sessions are varied and tailored to meet the learning needs and goals of the students. Academy Head Coaches will work closely with the Senior Management Team to guarantee the seamless operation of the summer school.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to earn, learn, and grow while showcasing your skills and enhancing your CV. You'll be able to add value to our courses by contributing to sports workshops or developing the sports programme. It is a valuable experience to see the inner workings of professional sports and work with leading brands (Arsenal Football Development). Additionally, it offers networking and future job opportunities with industry professionals in fields including teaching, sports business, professional sports (players), coaching and more.
Main Roles & Accountabilities:
1. Understand how the Exsportise activity programmes work and ensure that all coaching, processes and paperwork meet Company standards at all times.
2. Carry out coaching responsibilities in the mornings and afternoons and ensure that registers are correct and all students are present.
3. Lead a team of Coaches and Assistant Coaches, providing necessary guidance and support to ensure high-level coaching.
4. Prepare for each session and maintain session plans, tailored to meet the learning needs and goals of the students.
5. Continuously review appropriate risk assessments and ensure sessions are carried out with the safety of students and staff in mind.
6. Take responsibility for all students' safety, welfare, and behaviour during the activity programme time.
7. Assess all coaches and provide constructive feedback.
8. Assess students' standards and place them into groups according to their ability.
9. Deal calmly and efficiently with any queries or problems that staff, students, parents, or agents may have about the coaching.
10. Ensure written reports are produced for each student at the end of each week and carry out an end-of-week presentation of Awards.
11. Ensure all activity equipment is kept in good condition and stored away safely after each session.
12. Deliver sports, nutrition, health and mindset workshops.

* Appropriate coaching qualification in your chosen activity (i.e. Minimum Level 2/3 or above coaching qualification for Basketball or vastly high achiever in your chosen activity).
* Highly organised and responsible character with excellent time management skills.
* Strong leadership skills, able to manage, develop and motivate a team of coaches.
* Able to deal well with pressure and to multi-task.
* Enthusiastic and friendly.
* Excellent communication skills with people of all levels.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours.
