My client is an established firm in the specialist waste management sector, due to continuous growth they are looking for a Field Service Engineer to install, service and maintain their equipment on various sites across the UK. The ideal candidate locations could include Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Runcorn, Wigan, Leigh, Ellesmere Port or surrounding areas.
Other job titles could include Service Technician, Mobile Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Multi-skilled Engineer or Field Engineer.
The Role - Field Service Engineer
1. Conduct PPM, servicing, and fault diagnosis on-site for recycling equipment, including compactors and balers.
2. Participate in hands-on field training with our experienced engineering team, gaining valuable exposure to our equipment and reporting systems.
3. Perform warranty repairs and accurately document each service call.
4. Ensure all service reports are completed with precision.
5. Maintain correct stock levels in your service van to ensure you’re fully equipped for each job.
Candidate Requirements: Field Service Engineer:
6. Previous experience within a mobile/ field-based role.
7. Has experience of fault-finding on plant machinery - conveyors, compactors, balers, crushers or similar
8. Holds an Engineering qualification or has equivalent time-served experience
9. Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is essential.
10. Electrical fault-finding skills.
11. Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic diagrams
12. Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required.
13. Must have a full driving licence.
Salary / Package: Field Service Engineer
14. 39.25 hours per week: Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri: 8am-3:30 pm
15. Salary: £19.50-£22 per hour depending on experience (£40k-£45k per annum)
16. On-call rota, 1 in 4 weekends - £100 per weekend
17. 29 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)
18. Overtime rates x1.5 (realistic OTE £55k )
