£40,000 - 50,000 DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain & Forecasting Planner to join an established manufacturer with global distribution. This is a key role collaborating across the organisation’s sales, marketing and operations teams to balance demand and supply effectively. The main responsibility for this role is to ensure the company can meet customer demands efficiently while optimising inventory levels.
Role Overview
As a key member of the operations team, you’ll be responsible for demand and supply chain planning by forecasting customer demand based on historical data, marketing activity and sales projections. You will be confident using forecasting software to ensure accurate predictions which will improve efficiency, reduce waste and support strategic decision making. Leading monthly forecasting meetings with the sales team, you will gather updates and evaluate “what if” scenarios to prepare for potential market changes or disruptions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain statistical sales and operations forecasts using historical and market trend data.
Collaborate with the demand planning team to ensure alignment with supply chain requirements.
Conduct thorough analyses of forecast demand vs. actual performance, identifying changes and trends.
Assist the sales team in resolving short-term supply challenges by optimising stock allocation.
Provide and review rolling forecasts.
Drive continuous improvement in demand planning and sales & operations planning processes.
Monitor, measure, and improve forecast accuracy through defined metrics.
Skills & Experience Required
Advanced Excel skills and experience with forecasting software (e.g., StockIQ, Avercast, Relex, ERP systems, Power BI).
Proven expertise in developing and optimising forecasting models.
Background in demand planning, supply chain management, or inventory planning within a manufacturing environment.
Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics (preferred).
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently lead and participate in meetings.
Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders.
A proactive and collaborative “can-do” attitude.
