The Role:
As the Commercial Manager, you will be at the forefront of our commercial operations, managing all financial aspects of a major project valued between £30,000,000 and £60,000,000. Your strategic insight and commercial acumen will drive profitability and ensure the successful delivery of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all commercial activities related to large-scale industrial and steel frame projects.
2. Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial planning to ensure profitability.
3. Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with project objectives.
4. Negotiate and manage contracts, including subcontractor agreements and client variations.
5. Monitor project costs, prepare financial reports, and ensure accurate cost control.
6. Lead the commercial team, providing guidance and support to junior members.
7. Resolve commercial disputes and manage claims effectively.
8. Collaborate closely with project managers and senior management to align commercial goals.
9. Ensure compliance with all legal and contractual obligations.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in the construction industry, particularly with industrial and steel frame projects.
2. Strong understanding of construction contracts, financial management, and cost control.
3. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
4. Ability to lead and mentor a commercial team.
5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
6. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
7. MRICS or equivalent professional qualification.
8. Full understanding of industry-standard software and tools.
