Image Transfers Administrator
Band 2
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established team as an Image Transfers Administrator. The successful candidate will be part of a small team who play an instrumental role in supporting decision making in both emergency and planned care at UHNM, as well as supporting patients transferring to other organisations as part of their care package. This critical role sits within the IM&T Directorate and focuses on the availability of medical imaging for the organisation and wider health economy.
The University Hospitals of North Midlands Trust is a tertiary centre for many services and, as such, we treat patients from a wide geographical area.
On top of the many benefits of working for the NHS, the Image Transfers Team also participates in a home working rota, which the successful candidate will be able to enjoy after initial training is complete.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday. The primary base for this role is at Royal Stoke University Hospital; however, whilst rare, there may be occasions where the candidate would need to rotate to County Hospital.
The Image Transfers Administrator is an office-based role that supports the clinical services of the hospital by providing timely access to medical imaging from a variety of sources; this is essential for efficient and effective patient care. Therefore, the successful candidate will be making a real contribution to the patient journey. The duties will bring the successful candidate into contact with a wide range of clinicians, MDT coordinators, and secretarial staff from multiple hospitals and healthcare organisations.
Image transfers to and from the Trust are completed using IT systems, and the successful candidate would need to be proficient at using several specialist IT systems in the course of their role; full training in these systems will be provided.
