Senior Health & Safety Advisor – Environment Inverness What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for an Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join the team at Galliford Try. Support the Health & Safety Operations Lead on all health, safety & wellbeing aspects for the ESD Joint Venture. This includes the implementation of the Health & Safety Strategy & Business Improvement Plan to ensure our operations meet exemplary Safety & Health standards. This role supports improvement and consistency in performance, ensuring compliance with management systems and implementing continual improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities: Foster and support an inclusive, open, transparent, and collaborative environment that supports our HSE culture, maturity, and behaviours to deliver H&S excellence. Implement and support our HSE Strategy to drive continual improvement through the Joint Venture, addressing short, medium and long-term growth. Proactively drive and promote the ESD Behavioural Cultural Programme in line with business objectives. Implement the ESD HSE Management system taking account of client requirements and drive performance through processes and standards. Engage with internal & external key stakeholders including client, supply chain partners, regulatory authorities, industry bodies and colleagues through plan, prepare and delivery project lifecycle. Provide H&S input to operational teams from the planning stage through to completion of any works, through guidance, advice and support to support proactive planning and implementation of H&S standards and take appropriate action where our standards are not met. Support operational staff in the review of high-risk method statements and risk assessments. Carry out H&S reviews at projects and offices on a regular basis, prepares reports and allocates actions and closure of actions to monitor performance and control. Assists in onboarding and management review of supply chain partners. Supports our learning and development programme by preparing and delivering training and awareness sessions, instructions, best practice guidance, codes of practice, H&S information etc to our operational and leadership teams, clients and at industry events. Utilise HS& performance KPI’s to review performance and drive continual improvement. Responsible for investing and supporting investigations and non-conformities, production of reports and leading opportunities for improvement as appropriate. About You: Good awareness and understanding of Project Lifecycles, Construction Techniques and Processes Knowledge of data analytics and reporting systems An understanding of work-based competence schemes Compose and prepare written reports. Experience of preparing and delivering SHE presentations and related training Use of Microsoft and Cloud Based Software Platforms Ability to work and contribute to a Team and able to work independently as required. Good listener and able to communicate to internal and external stakeholders. Able to judge situations and ask for help as and when is needed.
