Job summary As a Lived Experience Peer Support Worker, youll leverage your personal journey to make a genuine impact in the lives of children and young people with Autism. Youll be a trusted role model, guiding children and young adults through challenges, helping them navigate resources, and connecting them with their community. Drawing from your lived experience, youll provide empathetic, practical, and meaningful support that fosters hope and empowers families. This role combines teamwork, personal initiative, and community engagement to ensure every child receives the personalized care they need to thrive. Main duties of the job Support Autistic children and young people in achieving their care plan goals through one-on-one or group engagements, focusing on trust and connection. Share your own experiences to build rapport, instill hope, and provide practical advice. Champion social inclusion by creating connections to community resources and opportunities. Collaborate with families, carers, and professionals to deliver a holistic, relational approach to care. Co-produce services in partnership with children, young people, and their families to meet real needs and ensure positive outcomes. Maintain accurate and timely records of your work using systems like SystmOne. Work flexibly, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in meeting challenges.
