Maintenance Foreman / Supervisor
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Maintenance Foreman
REPORTING TO: Contracts Manager
PRIME JOB PURPOSE: To carry out work in a professional and productive manner, exceeding expectations of customers and manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with control of the workforce – setting targets etc.
* Completing necessary documentation.
* Providing effective leadership for the people under your control.
* Depot housekeeping including vans and plant.
* Ensure works are completed on-time and are to specification.
* Be an effective assistant to your Supervisor and Contracts Manager.
* Understand the contract documentation e.g. Specification, billing systems etc.
* Develop, delegate and monitor the people under your control.
Main Tasks
* Supervise teams of employees/sub-contractors on a daily basis, identifying workloads and allocating tasks, ensuring work standards are maintained, areas are left secure and barriers/gates locked.
* Responsible for the quality of service within his/her area of operation.
* Grass cutting, raking and edging, weeding, sweeping, litter picking and leaf collection.
* Periodically assist with horticultural operations such as planting, pruning and maintenance of trees, shrubs and other gardening tasks as required.
* Chemical application.

* Exceptional customer experience and development of strong, profitable long-term relationships with both customers and clients.
* Profitable and effective management of contracts for which responsible, ensuring that tendered margins are delivered.
* Championing and representation of Company philosophies and values in relation to all stakeholders – customers, clients, suppliers and employees.
* Effective deployment of all Company Health and Safety procedures.
* Effective communication of any and all significant issues to Senior Contracts Manager as and when they may arise.
* Create a positive impression with our customers and work to exceed their expectations, presenting a polite and responsible attitude at all times.
* Communicate with customers politely and professionally and accurately report customer comments to managers.
* Understand what the company does, promote the company wherever possible and feedback potential leads from sites and local press.
* Wear the correct corporate clothing and ensure vehicles and machinery are professionally presented and that sites are kept clean and tidy.
* Be efficient and organised, working to company systems, e.g. timesheets, works control tick sheets, rotas, absence request forms, etc. to ensure that contractual performance obligations are met.
* Read, understand and work to the company’s Health & Safety Policy and use correct PPE: high-viz vest, ear defenders, gloves etc.
* Ensure that any plant/equipment is used safely and only after suitable training has been given.
* Understand and work to risk assessments and COSHH assessments and report accidents and near misses.
* Report any potential health & safety issues to your manager/supervisor.
* Be reliable in your attendance at work and follow company rules and procedures if absent from work for any reason.
* Act to help the company control costs and avoid wastage wherever possible.
* Know the correct machine for the job and understand the maintenance requirements of machinery and ensure appropriate checks and records are kept.
* Utilise best, most economic and effective work practices.
* Take responsibility as part of the team for delivering a quality service.
* Show initiative and make suggestions for improvements that may lead to increased productivity.
* Show a rigorous concern for the security of company buildings, vehicles, machinery and materials.
