Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Engineer

About the Role
As an ILS Engineer, you will join our innovative team at the forefront of developing support solutions for AEUK’s cutting-edge products. Reporting to the ILS Team Leader and appointed ILS Manager, you will contribute to major UK and international defence programs, working closely with product development teams and customers. This role plays a vital part in delivering AEUK’s strategy to enhance product supportability and provide operational excellence to their customers.
What You will Be Doing
1. Conducting a range of ILS activities, including Supportability Analysis, Reliability and Maintainability (R&M), Supply Support, and Maintenance.
2. Influencing product designs to enhance in-service supportability.
3. Designing and developing tailored support solutions for AEUK’s advanced maritime systems.
4. Supporting bid programs by analysing ILS requirements, preparing cost estimates, and developing proposals.
5. Managing packages of work to ensure delivery within budget and on schedule.
What We are Looking For
We are looking for a motivated team player with a proven track record and strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will possess:
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
1. Experience applying ILS principles to complex defence projects.
2. Familiarity with defence standards such as Def Stan 00-600, Def Stan 00-40 Series, and the Defence Logistics Framework (DLF).
3. Knowledge of tools such as Logistic Information Repositories (LIRs), OPUS 10, PTC Windchill, and ARM.
4. A degree, HND/HNC in engineering/science, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Desirable (but not essential):
1. Knowledge of naval systems, underwater acoustics, military sonars, or mine warfare.
2. Understanding of system maintenance tools, military documentation formats, and naval platforms.
