The Internal Sales Engineer (Standard Equipment) is responsible for enquiry qualification, quoting, sales, administration and delivery of individual and multiple lines of standard equipment and associated technical support to customers across the UK.
The Role:
The Internal Sales Engineer (Standard Equipment), reporting to the Standard Equipment Sales Lead supports the regional Business Development Managers to meet performance objectives of equipment order intake and revenue. The role covers the UK and includes directly selling to building services contractors and end users and providing technical support to consultants.
In addition to meeting the Equipment Order Intake and Sales objectives, the Internal Sales Engineer is responsible for enquiry qualification, ensuring product selection is correct, pricing and quoting. When handling directly customer queries, to support and guide them, explain and clarify choices and actions. In administering sales orders, to provide purchase order requisitions and expedite, onboard new customers and provide order acknowledgements with expected delivery dates. In reporting to management, to provide a hot list of enquiries, and a forecast of order intake and revenue as required.
Quotation follow-ups and accurate logging of activities in Salesforce are essential, and this role will be responsible for building relationships with key customers, mainly by helping and supporting customers by phone and e-mail. Some face-to-face meetings with key contacts may be required.
Main Responsibilities:
* Receive enquiries and develop and deliver proposals.
* Follow up quotations to contractors and end users by highlighting the key features and benefits of the offer and thereby secure business for all products, across all market sectors in the region.
* Respond to Customer telephone enquiries and provide technical and commercial support as needed.
* Deliver Technical Submissions when Grundfos Water Treatment is not specified on a target project with support from sales and technical colleagues as required.
* Manage key customer relationships particularly with expediting and delivery queries and quickly resolve problems in liaison with Supply Chain and Logistics.
* Gain consultant acceptance of Grundfos Water Treatment equipment by participating in or delivering Continuing Professional Development presentations.
* Maintain Salesforce entries up to date and report on bookings and revenue as required by the Sales & Marketing Manager.
Specific Job Function:
* Receive and filter new email requests for quotation and respond to telephone enquiries. Allocate to colleagues as necessary.
* Maintain and manage a pipeline of live projects and report on any that are not won.
* Ensure all follow-ups are completed and logged on any proposal sent to customers.
* Generate high quality technical proposals for selected projects.
* Forecast orders expected by month and by quarter and on revenue by month.
* Ensure that Salesforce is always updated.
* Expedite goods to meet customer expectations.
* Maintain Equipment Sales price lists and Supplier Cost price lists.
* Respond to customer queries on quotations, orders and invoices.
* Teams or in-person meetings with clients.
* Make joint visits with the BDM or Sales Lead as required.

Education/Experience:
* Technical knowledge of Water Treatment systems would be an advantage.
* Experience of selling Equipment and Service.
* Goal-oriented, organized team player.
* Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
* Proven experience in account management.
* Strong computer literacy including Sage ERP and MS Office.
