The Governors and Headteacher of St Herbert’s CE Primary and Nursery School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and highly motivated Senior Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, supportive and hard-working school team.
The successful candidate will work with a child with additional needs in Key Stage 1, and training and support will be provided.
Hours of work will be 8:45 am until 3:20 pm each weekday during school term-time, with a half-hour lunch break between 12 and 1 (30.4 hours per week).
The position is offered on a fixed-term contract to support a specific pupil and is therefore expected to end on 31st August 2030 when the pupil finishes at St Herbert’s and transfers to secondary school. As the contract is dependent on the needs of the child being supported, funding received to support the child, and the child remaining at St Herbert’s School, the hours and term of the contract may be subject to change.
The successful candidate will:
• be qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent;
• have experience of working with children of primary age with additional needs;
• be able to motivate and encourage children to develop to their full potential;
• be able to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and their own position within these.
