Job Description Fitter Full Time – 3 Shift Pattern (Mornings/Afternoons/Nights) Derby What you will be doing An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fitter to join the Large Engines Business and play a key role in the assembly of Modules in the Production Testing Facility, based in Derby. As a Fitter, you will put the safety of our teams and products first by assembling our Units and Modules as directed by our Standard Operating Procedures, engineering drawings and technical specifications. You will work as part of a highly skilled team to assemble and continually improve our Trent XWB, Trent 7000 and Trent 1000-TEN products and assembly processes. You will report directly to a Production Leader for the facility. Responsibilities You will: Put Safety First by promoting a culture of Product and Personal Safety in our assembly teams. Be accountable for fitting and assembling components to technical instructions and specifications. Identify and raise non-conformance issues, working with Inspectors and our staff teams to resolve efficiently. Prioritise and plan fitting tasks effectively to ensure the facility meets delivery commitments. Maintain a clean and safe workplace environment, identify best practices for our business and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products and processes. Why Rolls-Royce? A passion for Product Safety, Personal Safety and Continuous Improvement, A recognised time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, at either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3, and BTEC national or equivalent qualification. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with many different stakeholders from multiple levels of the business. Proficiency in PC usage is essential.
