We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer to provide professional supervision and oversight of the M&E work programmes.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of statutory compliance servicing programmes, repairs, planned and cyclical work. This role will primarily have a mechanical bias, focusing on gas servicing, boiler installs, legionella works and sprinkler systems. However, there will also be occasions where you will be required to support the electrical programmes including rewires, storage heater installs, door entry systems, fire protection servicing and lift servicing.
You will carry out pre and post inspections, monitoring the quality of the work, investigate and respond to any customer feedback.
About the job - what does it involve:
* To ensure the efficient and timely delivery of the compliance servicing programmes.
* To supervise and monitor the M&E contractor performance.
* Carrying out pre and post inspections.
* Raising orders, reviewing variations, and ensuring the timely payment of satisfactory works.
* Checking certification is received, completed correctly and the asset management system is updated.
* Supporting the M&E Manager in identifying priority work, determining planned work programmes, and managing recalls.
* Supervising the health, safety, and compliance of contractors.
About you - what we’re looking for:
* Evidence of training and experience, specifically in gas safety and water hygiene.
* Knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, ideally gained in a social housing background.
* Working knowledge of key compliance legislation.
* Experience of writing technical specifications and reports.
* Demonstrable experience of post inspections, fault finding and contract management.
* Excellent IT skills and experience of using a range of IT systems and Microsoft Office.
* Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
* Physically able to climb ladders, scaffold, enter confined spaces etc.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

You will also be required to attend individual properties across Essex, East London, and Suffolk coastal areas.
So, do you think this is for you? Are you ready for the challenge? Well, if you are, we would love you to apply.
