Mechanical Estimator
Our Client, a well-established and reputable Mechanical & Electrical building services company, has an excellent client and sub-contractor reputation located in the South of England, offering a detailed service to recognized and repeat customers throughout the South East of England.
As a result of recent contract awards and ongoing works, they are looking to take on a Mechanical Estimator based from the head office in Andover, Hampshire.
At this time, they are seeking to recruit a Mechanical Estimator (Building Services) who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, a good team player but equally able to work on their own initiative.
Estimating Mechanical Building Services projects within the range of £(phone number removed) to £(phone number removed), to be able to work under their own initiative from receipt of initial tender documentation to completion of the tender for submission within an agreed & prescribed timescale.
Typical projects undertaken across the commercial/high spec residential sectors include MET police, Church of England, Heritage sites, Royal Palaces, and Households, as well as commercial new builds, offices, schools, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 plus years experience in a Mechanical/Building Services Estimating position.
2. A positive understanding of the Building Services industry and processes.
3. Potentially (but not essentially) educated to HND/HNC or degree level in Building Services Engineering.
4. An excellent knowledge of Mechanical sector/Building Services Estimating software packages is essential.
5. A good understanding of associated software packages would be an advantage.
Outline Brief of Responsibilities:
1. Read, understand and scrutinize specifications and drawings.
2. Preparation and issue of sub-contract enquiry packages.
3. Preparation and issue of supplier enquiry packages.
4. Preparation of Tender Cost Reports.
5. Take-off and measure pipework services from Consultant or other Tender drawings.
6. Tender site visits to fully establish the Scope of Works and specific site requirements.
7. Tender site visits with Sub-contractors/Specialists to ensure compliant and competitive submissions.
8. Attendance at mid-tender interviews (if required) and the ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of the requirements of the project.
9. Development of the Mechanical Building Services tender within an 'Estimation' Software package.
10. Compilation and preparation of the tender and associated documentation for Director approval prior to formal submission.
11. Formal submission of Tender.
12. Attendance at post-tender interviews.
13. Ongoing Estimating support to Contracts Management teams throughout the duration of the contract works.
14. Ability to tender multiple projects at any one time.
15. Ability to produce Value Engineering solutions.
The Employment Package:
1. A starting salary between £50,000.00 & £70,000.00, subject to level of experience.
2. Company vehicle/fuel card.
3. Holiday - 30 days per annum, including Bank Holidays.
4. Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme.
