We are looking for an experienced, applied psychologist to join us at the Darlington Gateway and Darlington Intervention & Treatment Teams, at a time of community transformation. The post would suit a compassionate, enthusiastic Psychologist, who is looking to develop their professional leadership skills in day-to-day leadership and governance of a psychological therapy resource. To support this, we use the leadership profiles for each psychology band, you will find these attached to the advert. Within this role, you will work closely with and be well supported by the Psychological Professional lead.
The post holder will work across the Gateway and Treatment & Intervention team delivering effective, safe, and compassionate care. As a service, we are keen to support and invest in the ongoing development of our Psychologists through CPD opportunities.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have significant experience of working psychologically with people who experience severe mental health problems and competencies in an evidence-based psychological therapy. They will contribute to the collective clinical leadership of the service. They will be responsible for the provision of specialist psychological assessment and formulation, and the delivery of evidence-based psychological therapy and clinical supervision. The post holder will contribute to service development and improvement within the locality and the professional leadership of psychological professions.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants will be required to have post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS and be registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC. Significant experience and competencies in delivering and supervising evidence-based psychological intervention is also essential.

The post holder will be professional lead for psychology professionals. Clinical supervision will also be a key part of the role. The post holder will take a lead on developing formulations with clients and their families. Further to this, this job will involve the organisation of psychological resources to support the development of psychologically informed care plans. The delivery of psychological therapy is also a component of the role. Collective leadership is established within the teams and as part of this the post holder will have leadership responsibilities within the services.
