Function description
We are in search of a skilled Radio Officer for a project located in France. This role is designated for a specific project starting from May until the end of the year approximately. A Radio Officer is responsible for managing all communication systems and ensuring the vessel stays in contact with shore and other vessels sailing in the vicinity of the project work zones.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist Captain/Officers with VHF radio communication.
2. Act as a safety measure to mitigate 'traffic' interfaces with local vessels sailing in the vicinity of the project work zones.
3. Reporting duties and deck jobs as required.
4. Operating and maintaining radio and satellite communication equipment.
5. Handling ship documents related to radio communication and safety procedures.
6. Performing routine checks and maintenance of communication, navigation, and electronic safety equipment.
7. Ensuring compliance with international maritime communication regulations.
Requirements
1. Compliant certificate to operate a VHF radio.
2. Fluent in French and English (mandatory requirement for both languages).
3. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
4. Compliant relevant Offshore certificates.
5. Previous offshore or maritime experience preferred.
