We are currently looking for motivated Highway Inspectors to join our team.
The successful candidates will be responsible for undertaking walked and driven highway inspections throughout the County Borough.
Main Duties
1. Carry out Highway safety inspections in a systemic manner.
2. Identify and quantify defects using hand-held data capture device.
3. Recommend remedial works of a temporary or permanent nature.
4. Investigate third party claims, complaints and queries.
5. Providing witness statements for court proceedings.
6. Attend court as necessary on behalf of the authority.
You will have experience in/of:
* Working in a highway maintenance background.
Ideally, you will have:
* Knowledge of Highways Act 1980.
* An understanding of the Code of Practice for Highway Maintenance Management.
There are no formal qualifications required for this role, as full training will be provided.
