BEFORE APPLYING PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO COMMIT TO THE BELOW:
1. Work 4 days on and have 4 days off
2. Travel to Gloucestershire for 4 days training (Accommodation will be provided along with breakfast and Lunch)
3. Manual Car Driver
Tasks and duties:
1. Aligned to the young person's individual care plan, via a person-centred approach, you'll provide personalised care and support including assisting with daily activities, medication management, meal preparation, and other personal care tasks.
2. Managing conflict by engaging in positive approaches to challenging behaviour.
3. Identifying and mitigating risk on a daily basis for everyone including the young person.
4. Coaching and mentoring to achieve better outcomes with the YP.
5. Stakeholder communication with family contacts, local authorities, emergency services, education providers, and more.
6. Report writing, daily reports & incident report forms ABCs and Service User Recording System - Mentor.
7. Adherence to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
8. Ensure all information and/or intelligence specific to the young person is treated with discretion and appropriate sensitivity.
9. Ensure all your activities fall in-line within the regulations and code of conduct set by The Care Quality Commission.
10. Adherence to the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 (HASAWA).
11. Carry out vehicle safety checks and drive the young person to appointments, activities, etc.
Person specification:
1. Capable of applying conflict resolution and risk management skills in a caregiving setting.
2. Proficient in identifying potential risks and taking appropriate preventive actions.
3. Experienced in handling conflicts and challenging behaviour professionally and effectively.
4. Passionate about coaching and mentoring others.
5. Takes positive steps to support YPs in achieving their goals and aspirations.
6. Provides guidance and support to other members of the care team.
7. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
8. Willingness to undergo training for skill and knowledge development.
9. Resilient and calm under pressure.
Knowledge/experience:
1. Experience within a care setting (can be professional or through lived experience).
2. Familiar with written administration in MS Word.
Qualifications:
1. Essential - Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent (and/or be willing to complete within 12 months).
2. First Aid Qualification is desirable but will be trained.
3. Full UK Manual driving license.
