Job Description
Due purely to the natural end of a permitted tenure, we now have an opportunity to appoint a Chair to the Property Operations Committee, here at Your Housing Group.
For this Committee Chair appointment, we are keen to hear from senior leaders that have both experience of serving as a committee chair or deputy chair and can bring to the Property Operations committee and the board, extensive strategic experience of asset management within the housing sector, particularly around, service delivery, asset strategy and investment programmes, and building safety.
Our board have recently approved the Groups new asset management strategy and as Chair of the Property Operations Committee, you will play a key role in scrutinising and overseeing delivery of the Groups strategic plans to continue to provide our customers with homes which are safe, warm, and dry. You will ensure the committee fulfils its delegated authority from the Board, to ensure there are agreed priorities, processes and a productive culture to fulfil the approved strategy, providing the Board with assurance on asset compliance, data and risk.
The Committee Chair, Property Operations, will also serve as a Non-Executive Director on the board, and will be instrumental in setting the Groups wider strategic direction, bringing further viewpoints and ideas which help us to innovate and influence what a housing provider can do.
At the heart of our mission at Your Housing Group, is a commitment to both delivering excellent customer service to our tenants and leaseholders as well as building and maintaining as many quality houses as possible. We have a large and diverse portfolio of over 25,000 properties for social and affordable rent, supported living, and innovative private rental offers, spanning the North West, Yorkshire, and the Midlands, and are a Strategic Partner to Homes England.
In the last few years, we have streamlined our group structure and developed more effective business/customer facing services. We have invested a significant amount in our assets and are well advanced in our Building Safety works. As an organisation we have planned for the future and are embarking on our new three-year Corporate Strategy, to deliver our vision to provide more people a safe place to call home.
We also know that the sector faces some incredible challenges as we move forward, and we want to continue to ensure our Board represents all kinds of backgrounds, perspectives, and reflects the communities we serve, so we are looking to attract Non-Executive Directors that share our vision, values, and goals to steer us through the next stage of our development.
If you can commit around two days a month for Committee and Board meetings, to work collaboratively and closely with other Board Members to develop our strategy and ensure compliance and are willing to act as an ambassador for YHG, then there’s an opportunity here for you to make a real contribution to the strategic decisions made at YHG at the highest level.
So, if you are a motivational leader, experienced working at Board level in an advisory capacity and facilitating committee meetings, ready for a new challenge with a great organisation we would really love to hear from you!
