Staff Nurse - CCU Ward 7A
NHS AfC: Band 5
We are looking for suitably qualified nurses to join our proactive team. Equally if you are a newly qualified nurse who would like a career in acute nursing, but are worried that it may be too early in your career we are also happy to ensure you can work on the ward and support would be provided to ensure you flourish.
We have a dedicated Education Facilitator who ensures that all are staff are trained and equipped to work within the ever changing ward environment. Newly qualified nurses will have a 12 month preceptorship with one of our experience staff.
We require excellent nurses who want exciting, challenging roles, to deliver first class high quality patient care. We are a 26 bedded ward which includes a 4 bedded Coronary Care Unit. Each Staff Nurse will get an opportunity of a rotation to our CCU. All training will be provided.
An Enhanced DBS Certificate with the checking of the Children’s and Adults’ Barred Lists is required for this post.

1. To contribute to the delivery of quality patient care by participating in and providing the assessment, planning, provision and evaluation of individualised care
2. To assist in the admission, transfer & discharge of patients in accordance with local policy
3. To participate in the developing and monitoring of standards of care and other quality initiatives in a positive manner
4. To fulfil the role of the registered nurse, utilising advanced skills of assessment, prioritisation, decision-making, risk management and communication skills
5. To always be caring, approachable and display a consistently professional manner
6. Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy
Person specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with current NMC Registration (RGN)
* Teaching and Assessing Qualification/Training, or equivalent
* Post-Registration Qualification in Critical Care
* ALS/ILS Qualification
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Procedures
* Knowledge of clinical skills required to undertake the role
* Knowledge of current professional and clinical issues
* Knowledge and understanding of how audit may influence quality of patient care
* Evidence of quality improvement in patient care
* Substantial post registration experience in an Acute Hospital
* Experience in Critical Care Nursing
Skills
* Excellent record management and organisational skills
* Excellent time management and prioritising skills
* Ability to negotiate and demonstrate a sound problem solving approach to work issues
