Overview
The Pharmacy Dispenser plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by ensuring that patients receive their medications safely and efficiently. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is dedicated to providing excellent patient care and has a strong understanding of pharmacy operations. The Pharmacy Dispenser will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to support medication administration and patient education.
Duties
1. Accurately dispense medications as per prescriptions, ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations.
2. Assist in the preparation and labelling of medications for distribution to patients.
3. Provide excellent patient care by answering queries regarding medication usage, side effects, and storage.
4. Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed, including patient information and medication details.
5. Collaborate with pharmacists to manage inventory levels, ensuring that stock is replenished as needed.
6. Participate in medication administration processes under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
7. Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
Skills
1. Strong background in patient care, demonstrating empathy and effective communication skills.
2. Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is advantageous, with knowledge of pharmacy operations and procedures.
3. Proficiency in medication administration practices, ensuring accuracy and safety in dispensing processes.
4. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions precisely while managing multiple tasks effectively.
5. Strong organisational skills, enabling efficient management of time and resources within the pharmacy setting.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.16-£13.66 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
