My client is a well-established law firm based in Liverpool offering a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join our team due to continued business growth.
We are looking for a diligent, confident, self-motivated, and experienced person to fill the role of a Business Energy Fee Earner. Retrain experience available.
Role Responsibilities
1. Handling a caseload of Claimant Business energy.
2. Handling transferred fast track BE files that are ready to litigate.
3. Representing the team in the conduct of client matters in providing legal advice and assistance in a professional manner.
4. Completing all necessary investigations into the circumstances of the incident and the value of the client's claim, carrying out legal research as required.
5. Collating and reviewing the evidence to assess prospects of the claim succeeding on its merits.
6. Negotiating settlement on the best possible terms for the Client ensuring that instructions are followed or taken at the vital points.
7. Ensuring that the legal expenses provider is kept updated at all key stages.
8. Drafting the necessary documents to issue court proceedings, following court directions, drafting statements, and preparing the file for a final court hearing.
9. Identifying and appropriately investigating all conflicts, complaints, and potential acts of negligence and ensuring they are reported immediately to a team leader or member of the compliance team.
Experience Required
1. A minimum of six months experience in a similar role either in-house or within private practice.
2. Basic legal background i.e. knowledge of fundamental legal concepts.
3. Confidence to manage colleagues’ expectations and ensure delivery by following up on items which have been promised.
4. Writing skills- to be applied in written papers for internal and external release.
