Key Responsibilities Individual Support : Provide one-to-one support to students with SEN, tailoring your approach to meet their unique learning and developmental needs. Group Work : Assist small groups of students, delivering targeted interventions to support their academic progress and social skills. Collaboration with Teachers : Work closely with classroom teachers to adapt lesson plans and resources to ensure they are accessible for all learners. Classroom Assistance : Support students in accessing the curriculum, helping them to engage with learning activities and stay on task. Behaviour Management : Use positive behaviour strategies to support students in developing self-regulation and engagement in the classroom. Progress Monitoring : Track and document students’ progress, sharing insights with teachers, SENCOs, and parents/carers to inform next steps. Emotional Support : Build trusting relationships with students, providing a safe and supportive space for them to express themselves and develop confidence. Safeguarding : Ensure the safety and well-being of all students, adhering to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures. What We’re Looking For Experience with SEN : Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, whether in a school, care, or community setting. Adaptability and Initiative : A flexible approach to meeting students’ diverse needs, combined with the ability to think on your feet. Empathy and Patience : A caring and understanding attitude, with a commitment to supporting students facing challenges. Collaboration Skills : The ability to work effectively as part of a team, building positive relationships with staff, students, and families. Desirable Qualifications : While not essential, qualifications or training in areas such as SEN support, child development, or teaching assistance are highly valued.
