Job Title: Software Engineer - Industrial Automation
Salary banding: £45,000 to £60,000 per annum (based on an applicant’s skills, training and competence)
Reports to: EC&I and Software Design Lead
Working Hours: 40 hours per week worked across 5 days - Monday-Friday
Location: Thyson Office in CH65 4LX but will be expected to visit project sites across the UK occasionally.
Primary duties:
* Develop functional automation software programs that are easy to follow and fault find.
* Carry out in-depth software testing with the Commissioning team to ensure the repeatability and reliability of the system.
* Use your garnered knowledge to train and advise the Junior Software Engineers on best principles and guidelines.
* Attend client meetings and be comfortable representing the company when face to face with clients.
* Work closely with the site-based Engineers and Commissioning Engineers to continuously improve our standards and help the design team to view their projects from multiple perspectives, including maintenance and decommissioning.
* Build a clear image of the existing processes and offer improvements and suggestions.
* Aid the commissioning team during pre-FAT and FAT with any software-related issues.
Essential skills:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in an Engineering Software-related role.
* Demonstrable experience working on complex automation software systems.
* Experience with industry-leading PLC hardware and software (e.g. Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).
* Must be able to integrate multiple sub-systems into the automation system.
