Our Science department is a team of experts dedicated to delivering a rigorous and engaging curriculum, adapted to a mid-year start, focusing on advanced physics concepts and practical investigations. About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Physics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following relevant examination specifications, and adapting to the needs of students joining mid-year by providing advanced bridging materials and accelerated learning pathways. Foster a love of physics in students, encouraging them to develop their analytical, critical thinking, and research skills, and to appreciate the complexity of the physical world. Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment, and to contribute to the wider academic and extracurricular life of the school, including participation in science competitions and research projects, with a focus on team integration and collaboration. Organize and lead laboratory investigations, research projects, and science-related activities, promoting hands-on learning and scientific inquiry, and providing opportunities for students to showcase their work. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Strong subject knowledge in Physics, including advanced physical concepts and laboratory techniques. Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A-Level. Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Physics examinations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to inspire and motivate high-achieving students, including those joining mid-year. A passion for physics and a commitment to fostering scientific inquiry and research skills. Ability to organize and lead laboratory investigations and research projects. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to quickly integrate into a school environment mid-year. Benefits: Full-time, permanent position, starting April 2025.
