Are you an existing highly specialist (Band 7 ) Speech and Language Therapist looking for a change, or an experienced senior (Band 6) ready for the next step working with adults who have communication and swallowing problems as a result of a stroke?
A very warm welcome awaits you at Wirral University Teaching Hospital in the Stroke Early Supported Discharge (ESD) Team
The ESD team is based at Clatterbridge General Hospital and comprises of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants, along with Speech and Language Therapists.
You will have a Speech and Language degree qualification and be registered with the HCPC and ideally be a member of RCSLT.
The post involves provision of assessment, treatment and advice to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties as a result of a stroke in their own homes.
Within the team we will provide:
A strong support network for both clinical work and wellbeing within a well established and experienced team
Opportunities to learn from highly experienced MDT team members
Both clinical and managerial supervision on a regular basis
Annual appraisals
Opportunities to access internal and external training if relevant to your role.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated to work with adults and have excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills and be an enthusiastic team member.

Clinical Lead role in the assessment and treatment of patients within a speciality, having developed highly specialist knowledge of that clinical area, and being an autonomous clinician, maintaining a high standard of clinical practice
To provide leadership within speciality and to be a role model to all AHP staff across the directorate.
To participate in providing 7 day services and an extended working day, as required.
Working with clinical Team Leader and AHP Management team to provide a coordinated quality service
