Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Our Critical Care Unit is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic band 5 nurse with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for critical care. We would highly recommend a visit to the unit so you can see the unit and understand the role.
The unit at RHCH is a 9 bedded facility with approximately 40 health care staff, BNHH is an 18 bedded unit with approximately 90 health care staff. We are a friendly and supportive team, we admit both medical and surgical admissions from the Emergency Department and the wards. We have an outreach service and this team works alongside the critical care team to ensure best care for our patients. We also run an established Advanced Critical Care Practitioner program.
All new staff to critical care will attend the critical care foundation program (CCFP) which is mandatory - this includes simulation and online theory modules. After successful completion of CCFP, there is an opportunity to complete a university-based critical care course which is run by Oxford Brookes University. We also provide lots of other bespoke training and development.
Staff are required to work on both sites, BNHH and RHCH.
