Energise Your Career, Accelerate a Net-Zero Future RenewablesJobs The opportunity The Operations Manager plays a key role in leading the O&M team at Neart na Gaoithe, working from a modern facility at Eyemouth Harbour. This exciting position focuses on ensuring high standards of health and safety, environmental care, and smooth day-to-day operations, while keeping the wind farm performing at its best. You’ll work closely with Siemens-Gamesa and other key contractors to plan and deliver all operations and maintenance activities, while managing the commercial side of things effectively. As the main representative for EDF Renewables UK & Ireland and the Joint Venture Partners, you’ll make sure everything runs smoothly and stays compliant with laws, regulations, and company policies. You’ll also coordinate with teams across EDF Renewables to deliver the Operations and Maintenance Agreement for the project. What you’ll be doing You’ll initially work as an integral part of the construction project team to create and deliver an effective operational readiness programme. This will ensure a smooth and effective handover into the operational phase. • Lead, develop, motivate and manage the NNG team to establish and inspire a high performing team. • Implement HSE, Operational and Engineering procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and Edf Renewables policy and ensure that all Safety Rules are adhered to. • Ensure that day-to-day operations of the wind farm are coordinated and are delivered safely and efficiently and develop effective relationships with key contractor organisations to ensure safe operation, Grid compliance, and to maximise the site’s commercial performance. • Ensure there is an effective H&S Plan for the site and ensure roles and responsibilities for delivery of the plan are clear. • Manage the O&M budget and ensure robust processes are in place to deliver revenue. • Ensure Operating Procedures are developed, reviewed and updated. • Develop the NnG HV system O&M strategy in line with existing fleet-wide approaches to HV maintenance, manage the provision of HV electrical system O&M and liaise with the OFTO on operational matters. • Manage the provision of peak hours monitoring and work control activities at site, 24/7 emergency cover, and coordinate with the out-of-hours central control room. • Through the wider NnG team at site and Technical Support from the Asset Operations Team, provide a range of operations support, including liaison with WTG OEM to ensure first line turbine maintenance support, turbine performance analysis, SCADA and IS support, provide service and safety documentation, develop and implement specific longer-term O&M strategies. Work with others to ensure safe and efficient planning for major maintenance campaigns. • Manage the interfaces with Grid/network operator, EDF Energy forecasting processes and managing imbalance in the wider EDF context. • Work flexibly to provide input into wider offshore wind O&M topics including taking delegated authority. • Liaise with the wider Asset Operations directorate to make decisions for operational and maintenance activities for the site. • Play an active role in supporting the wider business relating to (naming only some) safety, quality, Technician competence, operational excellence, wind farm development, OEM and client interfaces. • Represent, when needed, EDF UK in Asset Operations meetings, tradeshows, conventions. What do you need to be great at this role? We’re looking for a degree educated professional leader who is confident to work autonomously with the ability to communicate and pass on technical knowledge in a clear and understandable way. A commitment to QHSE, with a good understanding of HSE legislation and standards, with proven experience in power plant operations & asset management and a track record of delivering high levels of performance and initiating business improvement activities. • Strong / proven experience in offshore wind energy and securing and maintaining a safe environment for all operations or other equivalent power plant operational experience. • Strong commitment to safety, health, environment and quality with good understand of legal requirements. • Excellent people management and leadership skills with proven experience of managing technical teams. • Ideally to also have proven experience of full carrying out HV multi-feed SAP and Control Person roles under HV Safety Rules, or equivalent. • Excellent at building successful relationships (with external people, peers, stakeholders and reporting line). • Budget preparation, budget tracking and cost control. • Excellent organisational and planning skills. • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work. • Good command of IT including Asset Management Tools and desktop IT systems. • Flexible to travel around the UK to attend events and support other EDF wind farms as required. • Excellent (English), oral and written, communication skills. • Full UK driving licence.
