This fantastic hospitality company are seeking a Head of Legal - Employment to join their team in Bedfordshire. This role requires a presence in the office three days a week, offering a balance of in-person collaboration and flexible working.
This is an exciting opportunity to be the company’s first Employment lawyer, leading all employment law matters across our UK, Ireland, and Germany operations. You will provide expert guidance to the Executive Committee, helping to navigate complex legal scenarios with confidence and clarity.
As a key member of the People Committee, you will work closely with the Chief People Officer and other senior leaders to shape and implement people strategy, ensuring alignment with the business growth objectives. You will also manage external legal providers, establishing a new panel to optimise legal support while delivering cost efficiencies for the business.
In this pivotal position, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and the Executive Team, providing strategic counsel on employment-related matters. Though your primary focus will be on the UK and Ireland, you’ll also play a key role in supporting our international strategy, partnering closely with our Germany team.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in UK Employment Law, either as a Senior Associate in a law firm or in-house at a multi-site organisation. Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex legal concepts to a diverse audience. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging with senior leadership and external legal partners. A pragmatic, solutions-driven approach, with a focus on identifying improvements and delivering creative, business-enhancing solutions.
