Job summary We wish to appoint a suitably experienced and motivated candidate to join our Breast Team. Currently we have five breast surgeons (four surgeons have a special interest in oncoplastic breast surgery). The successful candidate will have a special interest in breast and oncoplastic surgery. Along with the Consultants the team has two Specialty Doctors, one Speciality Trainee (Deanery), two Trust Clinical Fellows, one FY2 and two FY1 Trainees. There is a Consultant Nurse and five Breast Care Nurses. As a tertiary cancer centre, the breast team treat circa 500 new breast cancers per annum, participate in the Breast Screening Service and carry out approximately 180 oncoplastic procedures per year. Apart from routine breast operations and sentinel node biopsy we perform a wide range of oncoplastic procedures. These include therapeutic mammoplasty including contralateral breast reduction, lipomodelling, Skin and nipple sparing mastectomy, skin reducing mastectomy, Implant based immediate breast reconstruction including use of acellular dermal matrix and Extended Latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction and perforator flaps (e.g. LICAP flap).
