Our client, a globally leading EPC company, is seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to join the team on a high-profile project. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of the battery materials project by identifying and mitigating potential hazards throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct and contribute to comprehensive hazard identification studies (HAZID, HAZOP) for the battery materials process.
2. Analyze potential hazards associated with raw materials, equipment, and process operations.
3. Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
4. Review process design documents, including P&IDs, to ensure adherence to safety principles.
5. Provide technical support for the development of safe operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency response plans.
6. Participate in project meetings and effectively communicate safety considerations to engineers, operators, and other stakeholders.
7. Stay up-to-date on relevant legislation and standards for battery material production.
8. Maintain a strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Safety Engineer in the chemical or related industry.
2. Proven experience in conducting and contributing to hazard identification studies (HAZID, HAZOP).
3. Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies (LOPA, FMEA, etc.).
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
6. Self-motivated with a strong commitment to safety.
