We are looking for caring and committed individuals to join our healthcare assistant team supporting the team at Abingdon Community Hospital, OSRU.
The role will be 22.5 part time hours. Shifts cover 7 days per week including early, late and night shifts.
Full training and support available, As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be instrumental in assisting the teams to meet the changing needs of the patients, provide personal care, assist in individual patient monitoring and be a patient advocate.
Your commitment to providing excellent care at the place of the individual patient or ward need will demonstrate your patient focused approach. Working across wards in a range of shifts, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, will develop your skills and knowledge in a variety of patient specialities and ensure that the role is very rewarding.

Please note that mileage will be paid should you be required to travel between community hospital bases.
+ All new starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process, aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale
+ Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.

Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit is a 20-bed inpatient unit based at Abingdon Community Hospital.
We provide a short period of inpatient rehabilitation for people who have had a stroke, are registered with an Oxfordshire GP and are not able to be discharged directly home from hospital.
