We're looking for an enthusiastic Learning Developer to join the Safety Learning and Development (SLeD) team under Workplace Health and Safety. The ideal candidate has experience in instructional design, e-learning, and classroom training development. They are comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasked, high-energy environment, are creative, and an analytic problem solver with a passion for helping people learn. They are skilled at finding simple ways to convey complex ideas.
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate is comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast-paced, high energy environment. They are a creative and analytical problem solver with a passion for helping people learn.
You have some or all of the following:
1. Experience using e-learning software, such as Captivate or StoryLine
2. In-depth knowledge and application of instructional theories, adult learning, on the job learning, knowledge management theories, and principles in both online and classroom instruction. You have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently.
Additional experience and competencies that are strongly preferred include:
1. Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications
2. Proven competence using a Learning Management System (LMS)
3. Leverage rapid, agile development techniques and processes to create content for a rapidly changing environment.
4. Develop exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies, and multimedia based assets.
5. Manage multiple development projects simultaneously
6. Acute attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment
7. Demonstrated ability to create assessments based on learning and performance objectives

An ideal candidate is skilled at developing creative, modern, engaging and effective training solutions that help associates, safety professionals, managers, engineers, and maintenance technicians build capabilities in a fast moving and diverse business. You must also be an effective communicator and efficient program manager with the ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and coordinate work across teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a BS/BA degree + 2 years of experience in any of the following disciplines: Education Technology, Instructional Design/Technology, Adult Education, Visual Communications, or equivalent studies is required
- Experience using Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise
- Experience using Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, or a similar application
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
- Strong project management and boundary-setting skills that ensure timely turnaround of deliverables
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology
- Experience in MS Access and SQL
- Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
