Equans is looking for 2 x Sub-contractor Managers to join our team in Heysham Power Station on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The role holder will coordinate subcontractor activities on site, maintaining high standards of SHEQ compliance from all subcontractors operating on behalf of Equans at Heysham 2 Power Station.
What will you deliver?
* Manage Equans SMOC process and ensure any subcontractors working on site are fully approved on SMOC with relevant SMOC documentation in place.
* Conduct subcontractor inaugural meetings with subcontractors before work can commence (annually).
* Oversee subcontractor supervisors/field supervisors, ensuring supervision meets expectations (suitable setting to work, pre-job brief, spot checks, etc).
* Meet and greet subcontractors working on behalf of Equans on the day of work.
* Update subcontractor manager board.
* Conduct a robust setting to work and pre-job brief with subcontractors working for Equans (where required).
* Review subcontractor RAMS prior to work and review on the day of work with subcontractors, ensuring understanding and compliance.
* Ensure any high-risk works undertaken by subcontractors are approved by local ISM, with RAMS reviewed prior to task commencement.
* Supervise and oversee works in the field by completing regular spot checks on subcontractor work (active supervision).
* Liaise with operations managers/supervisors planning subcontractor works and build strong relationships with teams to support subcontractor works.
* Review subcontractor performance regularly and provide feedback to operation managers and local ISM on any Health & Safety concerns/issues.
* Serve as the core focal point for site overseeing contractor management on a day-to-day basis.

Who are we looking for?
* NEBOSH General Certificate or working towards completion within 6 months of starting the role.
* Minimum of 2 years in a compliance/Health and Safety/Subcontractor management role.
* Experience in managing subcontractors.
* Ability to drive Health and Safety performance in subcontractors.
* Ability to own and facilitate a safe subcontractor management system ensuring safety remains a priority.
* Experience in Health & Safety systems.
* Strong communication skills across all levels working within performance management systems.
* Effective and decisive organisational skills with experience in introducing new ideas and approaches.
* Understanding of technical requirements, preferably with certification or a good knowledge and background in facility and domestic disciplines.
* CITB – SMSTS/IOSH Managing Safely as a minimum.
