We are looking for experienced Support Workers (either Bank or permanent) due to expansion of our service, to help cover day shifts at our Supported Living Placements based in Eastbourne. Previous experience in similar care settings would be most favorable for this role.
The position will be subject to a 3 month Probation Period.

We work with clients who may have diagnosis of mental health and /or learning disabilities and/ or physical health issues. These clients require staff who will support them to set personal realistic goals, understand boundaries and help Clients to learn all the skills needed to be able to safely live independently in the future. As such this can be mentally challenging (not physically) role.
Our focus is supporting these clients to learn or refresh skills to assist them to live and enjoy a balanced lifestyle, supporting them to develop social skills so that they can integrate and thrive in society.
We can offer you an informal visit as part of your application before interview so you can meet clients and our friendly staff team and get a feel for the type of work being offered
We require a desire for you to learn new skills, be active in undertaking continued personal development (CPD), to be excellent in working in a team, be able to be personally reflective and also have a sense of humor - the latter is an absolute requirement!
Job Description: ( following the TSHS vision)
- Person centered care and varying support: To assist and support client’s in individual/group activity, supporting them to develop their individual needs identified in their support plans and from their personal goals
-Independence: -To enable clients to increase their capacity for independence and independent decision making, supporting to make choices and to understand consequences
- To prompt and frequently oversee medication regimes working towards full compliance and future independence
- Engagement and Wellbeing: To report on any observed changes in mood or behaviour, health care needs or mental health care needs (during sessions or interactions)to the management team in order for signposting to correct agencies for support
-Safeguarding: To report any concerns about clients to the management team and document these effectively. To work in a transparent way, be autonomous in your work and follow the code of conduct for health care support workers- obtaining support from the team as required
- Partnerships: To contribute to effective team working and participate in staffs meetings, and attend staff team socials when able
- To liaise with other health care providers as required to address all clients needs. This may be social workers, GPs’, community services, work routes, advocates or addiction support.
-Respect and dignity- to uphold the dignity of all clients and to support them in finding a care pathway that best support the entirety of their individual needs. To support their rights to choice, whilst offering a variety of options that best suit their current situations and to help them make strong personal decisions.
- Personal development: To participate in staff training and other learning as required - Regular supervisions, appraisals and mandatory training will be provided for you. To have completed or be prepared to work towards completion of the Care certificate for health care support staff.
- Service development: To participate in TSHS development initiatives sharing innovative ideas and thoughts in a positive environment - to offer feedback and participate in improvement loops in both TSHS procedures as well as helping to develop ways of working to best meet clients needs.
- General: To liaise with the manager on all leave entitlements and adhere to the policies and procedures of TSHS
