S&D Trade Recruitment is assisting our client, a global leader in manufacturing based in Bredbury, with multiple sites across the North West and operations worldwide as part of a larger group, in their search for a Technical Sales Manager to drive business growth across the UK and international markets. Working closely with the sales, business development, and product management teams, you will play a key role in expanding the company’s market share within their industry. This role will involve travel to other sites in the North West, international travel at times, as well as occasional overnight stays within the UK as part of business development and client engagement activities. Working hours: 38 per week – Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and Friday, 7:30 am to 1:50 pm. Salary: Up to £50,000 Company Car Commission Structure and must hold a Current UK Driving Licence. Technical Sales Manager Key Responsibilities: Deliver technical presentations, proposals, and demonstrations to prospective clients, showcasing the company’s capabilities. Work closely with the technical team to ensure client requirements are met and solutions are effectively implemented. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand the customer base. Represent the company at client meetings, trade shows and industry events to promote our products and services. Drive new business growth in an engineering sales environment. Collaborate with marketing teams to identify opportunities for campaigns and lead-generation initiatives. Manage and grow both UK and international sales accounts. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Identify and capitalise on new market opportunities. Provide timely sales reports and insights. Ensure profitability and margin objectives are met. Report back weekly/monthly performance and results against agreed KPI’s. Technical Sales Manager Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience in new business development ideally wtih an Engineering/ Manufacturing sales environment. Strong technical acumen with the ability to sell complex engineering solutions. Demonstrated success in UK and international sales account management. Ability to manage own diary and client visits. Experience in industrial distribution and customer relationship management. Commercially aware with a structured approach to sales planning. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally. Required Full, clean UK driving licence. Familiarity with CRM systems to enhance sales performance is desirable however, training will be given. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Excel.
