This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to join our department within University Hospital Hairmyres and lead a team within Medicine for Older Adults. The team provides specialist assessment and treatment to a Medicine for Older Adults speciality - both acute and rehabilitation wards and will also be involved in developments within a frailty unit. This post requires an enthusiastic individual who is motivated to lead a team and to drive the role of the physio team in quality improvement and service development of older people’s services. This leadership role is also vital in developing and delivering the pan-Lanarkshire Medical Care Group priorities
The Role
The post holder will be responsible and accountable for developing, managing and delivering a specialist Physiotherapy Service as identified by the care group lead. The post holder will be responsible for introducing new approaches to physiotherapy access and process, increasing focus on health promotion and self management. The post holder will be responsible for the management and organisation of an identified team employed to deliver the specialist physiotherapy service. The post holder will be responsible for a highly specialised clinical caseload within their own area of clinical expertise.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
3. Postgraduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
5. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the speciality/area of practice.
6. Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development
7. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality including study days/courses/post-graduate qualification
8. The post holder will possess excellent teamwork/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
9. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Effective time management skills
11. Working knowledge of basic information technology

20. Please note this is a part-time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
21. Please note this is a fixed term post for 8 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in the Physiotherapy Department within University Hospital Hairmyres.
The working pattern for this role Monday-Sunday 5/7.
