Job Title: Senior Consultant – Nuclear
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant to lead our nuclear safety engineering team in Barrow-in-Furness.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as safety engineering lead, providing recommendations through analysis to improve the safety engineering performance and delivery of departmental outputs.
* Facilitate the Reactor Plant build and commissioning delivery program through innovative engineering solutions and problem-solving.
* Ensure the maintenance of Reactor Plant design intent during the build and commissioning.
* Advise and conduct Intelligent Customer duties regarding documentation, advice, and services provided to the business.
* Support the assessment of plant design changes.
* Assess plant build maturity for entry into subsequent build phases.
* Provide technically sound challenges to existing requirements.
* Write and present reports to communicate nuclear safety matters to various internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Degree qualified in an Engineering or Physical Science discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry, Physics).
* Knowledge of the nuclear industry and Nuclear Regulations.
* Previous exposure to Engineering Lifecycle.
* Proven experience of justifying design change, ideally on a Nuclear plant.
* Previous Nuclear plant experience.

The team covers activities ranging from design safety assurance, engineering/technical problem-solving to practical innovation and improvement projects across the Engineering Lifecycle with a strong focus on the Build and Commission of the reactor plant.
