About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our agency, providing flexible support to primary and secondary schools across Derby. As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and helping students achieve their full potential in the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include working with children in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, assisting with lesson delivery, and supporting students with various learning needs. You will need to be adaptable, dependable, and capable of quickly building rapport with students and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support Learning: Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons, helping students understand tasks, and ensuring they are actively engaged.
* Individual & Group Support: Provide additional support to students with special educational needs (SEN), behavioral challenges, or those who require extra help to keep up with the curriculum.
* Classroom Management: Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, supportive, and respectful learning environment.
* Assist with Assessment: Support the teacher with marking, recording student progress, and preparing learning resources.
* Promote Inclusion: Ensure that all students, regardless of ability or background, feel included, confident, and valued within the learning environment.
* Support Pastoral Care: Build strong relationships with students to offer emotional and behavioral support where needed.
* Adhere to Safeguarding Protocols: Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures to ensure the well-being of students.
Key Requirements:
* Level 3 Qualification in Childcare or Education (or equivalent).
* Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a primary school setting.
* Knowledge of the national curriculum and a range of teaching strategies.
* Experience supporting students with SEN (Special Educational Needs) is desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to quickly adapt to different classroom settings and work with a variety of students.
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children.
* A commitment to supporting students’ well-being and fostering a positive learning environment.
* Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check that is on the update system (or willingness to apply for one).
* First Aid certification is desirable but not essential.
