Our Corporate and Commercial group undertakes various corporate, commercial, tax, banking and employment work at all levels. Our specialist teams combine unsurpassed expertise with a sound understanding of the corporate landscape to provide exceptional solutions for every aspect of our clients’ corporate and business law requirements.
Our Corporate team acts for financial institutions, SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and PLCs on all aspects of corporate transactions. The team has specific experience and expertise in the energy, education, retail, logistics, healthcare, social care, technical and banking sectors. We also advise clients on matters relating to employee ownership; in addition, we deal with shareholder agreements, joint venture agreements, company formation arrangements, and other aspects of corporate life.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished Corporate Solicitor at Legal Director level. We are looking for someone with ambition and drive to join our team and to be a fundamental part of the ambitious plans for the future. You are likely to have around 6 years’ ++ PQE and enthusiasm to take on a real career opportunity.
Your key duties will be:
1. Handle a wide range of corporate work
2. Work closely with a range of clients to provide fast, pragmatic and commercial advice
3. Work with marketing strategies to attract new clients and develop relationships with current clients
4. Assist on tender pitches and development opportunities
5. Develop client relationships, hold meetings, and get to know them and their business
6. Assist and supervise more junior fee earners, delegating appropriate work to paralegals and supporting more senior team members on large complex matters
Skills and experience you will have:
1. A minimum of 6+ years relevant experience working in corporate law
2. A proven ability to generate new business in a professional services environment
3. Ability to manage your workload, knowing when to delegate and when to request additional input, to provide the best client service
4. An understanding of clients as our business partners & the importance of knowing what is key for them in a legal team
5. Ambition, leadership capability, and vision to work as a team to grow the business
6. Being able to bring a client following would be advantageous & would be reflected in incoming level of seniority
Key competencies you will need:
1. A high degree of initiative and the ability to cope in a demanding environment
2. Excellent organisational and prioritising skills
3. The ability to work in a busy team
4. Excellent communication skills
