Job Role: Full Time Daily or Live-in Nanny (accommodation provided is a 1 bed house in Romsey) Start Date: ASAP, or January 2025 Location: Romsey, Hampshire Position: Shared care until April 2025. Thereafter sole charge. Driver: Essential Salary: Approx. £40,000 - £50,000 gross pa depending on experience We have a kind and energetic family are looking for an experienced and organised nanny for their two sons (born December 2017 and March 2020) and baby daughter (born October 2024). The position is sole charge with hours of 07.30 to 18.30 Monday to Friday. The mother is currently on maternity leave until April 2025. When she returns to work, she will work from home on Monday and Friday, but the nanny will remain in sole charge on these days. The father will work from home on Fridays. The parents work in the city and as a business founder, so have separate offices and on workdays will be hands off with the children. The two boys are both happy and easy going. The elder is more thoughtful, whilst the younger is more energetic. Both are keen on the usual age appropriate activities, such as Lego, audio stories and drawing maps. The baby is in a good routine and – so far – is calm and happy. The family have had a Norland maternity nurse for all three children and have employed Norlanders over the last 6 years. The family are looking for a self-starting, keen and energetic nanny who can take on this role with enthusiasm, using their knowledge and experience to bring out the best in this the children and help prepare them developmentally for the next few years of life. The focus will be on the baby during school term time and then arranging activities for the children during the holidays. The parents are hands on when with their children, but understand the need to give the nanny space with the children and want to work in a team to ensure consistency across the three caregivers. The family have just moved to Hampshire from West London. They enjoy spending time being out and about in the fresh air, riding in a golf cart, exploring local barns, chasing tractors and playing pooh sticks on the river. The family want the nanny and the children to have fun and adventures together, and lots of laughing, whilst at the same time encourage good manners and ensure safety by maintaining boundaries. Continuing to teach the children respect and kindness for others is paramount. The family want to encourage a varied and healthy diet for their children and the nanny will be required to prepare and cook several fresh and nutritious meals a week, including supporting through the weaning process when the baby is ready. All regular nursery duties are expected, including, for example, cleaning, ironing and sorting of clothes, tidying the playroom, keeping toys clean and in good order, changing the children’s bed linen etc. The family has additional support in terms of housekeeping, cooking, laundry and admin, which will reduce the cooking and ironing required from the nanny, but will require them to liaise with other staff and be collaborative in their work. The family are looking for someone who is organised, tidy and methodical in their care of the children, whilst also understanding the need for them to jump in muddy puddles in wellies, make the odd mud pie and play in the garden with a paddling pool and end up tired and happy. The nanny will need a UK licence and to be confident driving the children safely on motorways in the rush hour. There will be occasional travel in the role, locations include Spain, Turkey and Switzerland. No pets at present, but the family will likely complete their family with the addition of a dog and perhaps some chickens in the summer of 2025
