We are seeking a dedicated Site Manager to lead operations at our new facility at the Port of Nigg near Inverness, where state-of-the-art wind turbines will be prepared and loaded onto our cutting-edge construction vessels. Job Description As Site Manager, you will lead a diverse team of permanent and temporary staff, ensuring the successful setup and operation of the site. Your leadership will be pivotal in directing all site construction and port logistics activities, including preparatory works, equipment mobilization, resource allocation, inventory management, preassembly, and load-out readiness. You will ensure the facility adheres to all environmental and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Project Coordination : - Oversee marshalling harbor activities related to offshore wind installation projects. - Ensure timely delivery and dispatch of materials and equipment. - Collaborate with the broader PMO team and participate in progress meetings. Team Management : - Lead and manage site personnel, fostering a collaborative work environment. Safety and Compliance : - Implement safety protocols and conduct regular inspections. - Address Marine Warranty Surveyors requirements and statutory construction activities. Logistics and Inventory Management : - Manage equipment and materials inventory, ensuring accurate tracking. - Coordinate logistics for transporting components to offshore sites. Stakeholder Communication : - Liaise with project managers, contractors, suppliers, public stakeholders, and local authorities. - Provide regular updates and reports on site activities. Budget and Resource Allocation : - Monitor site expenditure and optimize resource allocation. - Manage subcontract fulfillment and the claim register. Problem Solving and Decision Making : - Address operational challenges and implement effective solutions. - Advise on major issues affecting commercial or schedule aspects. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. - Proven experience in managing large-scale construction or logistics operations, preferably in renewable energy. - Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards. - Proficiency in project management software and tools. Desired Skills: - Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset. - Knowledge of site construction, heavy lift logistics, and the port industry. - Flexibility to support other logistics hub activities as needed. - Previous experience in offshore wind projects or similar sectors. - Familiarity with marshalling harbor operations and logistics.
