Enso Recruitment is working on behalf of our client to recruit a Level 2 Support Engineer with a strong networking background for an onsite role based in Belfast city centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a support professional looking to focus more heavily on networking while still engaging with wider infrastructure support across a busy enterprise environment.
The role sits within a growing Managed Services team and offers day-to-day exposure to core networking technologies, security appliances, and modern infrastructure platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver Level 2 deskside and remote support for user and infrastructure-related issues
2. Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents involving switching, routing, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP
3. Support the management and maintenance of Cisco and Fortinet firewalls
4. Provision and decommission user accounts, devices, and network access
5. Monitor infrastructure and respond to alerts across network and server platforms
6. Assist with software deployment, system patching, and updates
7. Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
8. Liaise with third-party vendors and escalate network-related issues when required
9. Participate in network upgrade and rollout projects
10. Support Windows desktop environments and Microsoft 365 services
11. Contribute to improvements in service delivery and operational processes
Experience & Skills Required
1. 2–3 years’ experience in a Level 2 or advanced Level 1 support role with a networking focus
2. Practical experience supporting Cisco and/or Fortinet firewall environments
3. Strong understanding of core networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP)
4. Hands-on support experience with Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and Active Directory
5. Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL-based support processes
6. Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, particularly around connectivity and network performance
7. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
8. Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix) is beneficial
Desirable Certifications (Not Essential)
1. Fortinet NSE certifications
2. Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals or Administrator Associate
3. Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator
4. CompTIA Network+ or Server+
5. ITIL Foundation
