Interim Finance Manager - 6 Month FTC
Salary: Up to £50,000
Location: Doncaster - Hybrid
Reports To: Head of Finance
Elevation Recruitment Group are working on behalf of a client that looking for a skilled and experienced Interim Finance Manager. Our client offers hybrid working and flexibility within a dynamic and growing team. This key senior role will be responsible for supporting and enabling operational colleagues to achieve the organisation’s mission, helping to connect people and green spaces, and delivering lasting beneficial outcomes.
The Finance Manager will work closely with the Head of Finance, leading the delivery of the financial year-end process and assisting with the end-of-year audit. You will play a vital role in ensuring transactional accuracy, timely reconciliations, and supporting the audit process to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality support and advice to the organisation, ensuring a solution-focused approach during financial month and year-end close-down.
* Act as a business partner to budget holders and project managers across the organisation.
* Internally audit and review all balance sheet and bank reconciliations prior to the end of the financial year, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved, and all appropriate documentation is filed.
* Assist budget holders in completing financial tasks during month and year-end close-down, including the reconciliation of the Grants and Contracts Register (fund balances).
* Manage the production of monthly management accounts and oversee the management accounts process.
* Support the finance team to ensure accurate and timely transactional processing for year-end and the first quarter.
* Lead on balance sheet forecasting, including working capital management and cash flow forecasting for the management accounts.
* Monitor and maintain financial controls to provide assurance to key stakeholders.
* Ensure all accounting practices comply with relevant accounting standards and follow organisational policies and procedures.
* Lead the coordination and delivery of the annual statutory audit and the production of the end-of-year statutory accounts.
* Recommend improvements to financial performance and controls by reviewing and enhancing accounting procedures and processes.
* Support the implementation of the new finance system within the organisation as required.
* Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team and the wider organisation.
Skills & Experience:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with non-financial stakeholders.
* Proven track record of delivering results and working collaboratively as part of a team.
* Strong understanding of financial management and reporting processes.
* Experience in leading audits and working on year-end financial reporting.
* Advanced knowledge of accounting practices, financial controls, and compliance with relevant standards.
* Ability to manage change and innovate financial systems and processes.
