NW Recruitment Services are seeking a Business Development Manager to work for a well-known manufacturing company based in Burnley.
As a key member of the sales team, the successful candidate will deliver increased sales activity resulting in the achievement of company targets, ensuring the company is in line with its year-on-year business growth plans.
Duties to include:
1. Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets.
2. Foster and develop new and existing relationships with customers/clients - Cold, Warm & Hot Leads.
3. Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation.
4. Help to develop the business sales and marketing strategy.
5. Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone.
6. Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
7. Manage 1st orders from quotation to delivery before handing over to internal office team.
8. Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to develop relationships.
9. Gain an excellent understanding of the businesses' products and services and be able to advise potential customers about them.
10. Create a sales pipeline.
11. Negotiate pricing with customers.
12. Increase sales of the business.
13. Liaise with the Purchasing team, warehousing and accounts departments as appropriate.
14. Keep abreast of trends and changes in the industry and filter into the business.
15. Attend exhibitions and events where appropriate.
16. Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management.
What you'll need:
1. Previous Sales/Business Development experience in a similar role.
2. The ideal candidate will be highly organised and comfortable working under pressure with the ability to prioritise workload.
3. An enthusiastic and proactive nature.
4. Share a positive, enthusiastic approach being flexible and highly resilient.
5. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Flexibility with UK travel to visit customers as and when required.
7. Full Clean UK Driver's Licence.
