The Role Day to day site compliance including, but not limited to; Health & Safety, COSHH, fire regulations, facilities management and general safe working practices. This is predominately a “hands on” role. You will be using your skills, qualifications and experience to conduct electrical installation, testing and commissioning as required to support fleet demands. It is envisaged that the role is 60% hands on and 40% planning/supervisory. Where this split is not possible, you must work with your manager to set appropriate work levels for yourself, your team and any required subcontractors. Duties include but not limited to: Work with the Fleet Department and the Quay Production Manager ensure the electrical services within all kitchen units are maintained to a safe and regulatory compliant standard. Develop and implement an electrical testing regime to ensure all units and modular kitchens meet British Standards, (or European / International standards as appropriate) and HSE requirements. Implement a certification process to ensure PKL can demonstrate that units meet the required standards (see above) to all clients, prospective clients and regulatory bodies. Plan the electrical resource requirements and where required (and duly authorised) order labour and material to meet those requirements. To relentlessly seek the best value and the most effective solution to any issues or problem identified. To adopt best practice asset planning and lean principles wherever practicable to achieve reduced lead times and continuous improvement. Be innovative and assist in driving the business forward. As requested by the Production Manager and the Projects and Technical Manager, taking scopes of work (SoW) and design drawings that will be provided to you, develop associated electrical schemes, which can be accurately costed. For projects / long-term hires where the use of PKL resources is both appropriate and available (possibly with some augmentation under your supervision / management) provide a quote, (with supporting cost data). For projects / long-term hires where the use of PKL resources is neither appropriate nor available produce documentation which will allow PKL to tender the work to multiple external contractors to deliver best value for money. These documents must: Be presented in a manner commensurate with PKL’s external image. Reference British, European or International standards as appropriate. Allow PKL to compare tender submissions between potential suppliers based on: Technical compliance. Cost. Compliance with relevant QHSE requirements. Competence to execute the required work to standard and schedule. Calculate electrical loads to ensure electrical infrastructure / schemes will support the electrical demands of the equipment within the installation, as requested by PSD or the Quay Work with the Production Manager review the electrical configuration of PKL Units to maximise electrical standardisation. Maximise the standardisation of electrical components across the fleet. Provide electrical installation advice to the Company as required. Ensure that whilst sufficient stock is held to enable the timely and proper completion of work, stock levels are minimised. Keep updated, a list of generic specifications for electrical components used by the Company (and any electrical contractors engaged by the Company) to allow maximum flexibility when procuring electrical materials. Re-use as much electrical material as possible to minimise any environmental impact and reduce costs. Qualifications Required Skills/Experience: Fully qualified 17th/18th Edition (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) Electrical Installation & Maintenance of Commercial Kitchens & Modular buildings Have good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements relating to the role C&G 2391 or 2394/5 testing & inspection or equivalent Full Driving License Desired Skills/Experience: ECS Gold Card IPAF First Aid Minimum 3 years supervisory experience (ideally holding a nationally accredited certificate or diploma in supervisory management)
