About this role:
The role is primarily be based in the office, overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned projects. This will include high-level process and electrical design, as well as instrumentation selection. Additionally, the role will involve assisting with the preparation and conducting of system inspections (FATs) with customer attendance, along with supporting on-site commissioning and a variety of tasks as needed. As such, you will be required to travel to customer sites occasionally.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
* Produce Bills of Materials (BoMs) and request quotations for peer review, leading to the placement of purchase order requests.
* Review designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
* Participate in technical development activities, scheduling, and the resolution of engineering design and test problems.
* Interpret and work with P&ID, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, instrument hook-ups, and control philosophy documents.
* Produce diagrams using 2D AutoCAD for review/approval, including Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Block Cabling, Cable Termination & Schematic, and Circuit Diagrams.
* Prepare high-level process control documentation for review/approval, including I/O schedules, cause and effect, and test schedules.
* Propose suitable switchgear components within control panels and instrumentation for processes.
* Select cables, cable glands, and electrical containment solutions.
* Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant quality (BS EN ISO 9001:2015), environmental (BS EN 14001:2015), safety (ISO 45001:2018), and explosive atmospheres (ISO/IEC 80079-34) standards.
* Develop skills with design systems and associated software to perform required tasks.
* Undertake any other duties for which the postholder is qualified and capable of undertaking, as requested by the line manager or other senior management.

* Level 3 qualification in Electrical and Electronics.
* Grade C/4 in Maths and English.
* A commitment to a career in the Electrical Engineering profession.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Strong knowledge of IT, including proficiency with Microsoft applications.
* Understanding of and experience with Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Explosive Atmosphere standards and working procedures.
* Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD LT).
* Familiarity with controllers, PLCs, and VSDs.
* Experience in performing administrative tasks.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong time management skills, punctuality, and organisational ability.
