We have an exciting opportunity within our Biololgy department who are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Biology Lab Technician.
About the role:
You will join on a full time, term time only basis (37.5 hours per week, 33 weeks per year).
The postholder will be responsible in aiding in the effective delivery of learning within the department. Providing assistance and advice in meeting the practical needs of the STE curriculum.

Key responsibilities (Including but not limited to; see job description for full requirements):
Preparation of science materials and equipment, including:
* prepare equipment, chemicals, specimens etc and set out apparatus, visual aids and relevant paperwork for all lessons
* disposing of waste materials in accordance with CLEAPSS / COSHH
Routine maintenance of science laboratories and preparation rooms, their equipment and services:
* maintaining clean and tidy workshops, classrooms and laboratories in conjunction with the teacher in charge of the room, including the neutralisation and cleaning up of spillages
* ensuring that any scientific debris or hazardous materials/spills are removed
Person Specification
The successful incumbent must have
* A degree in particular Science / DT or equivalent post A Level industry qualification preferred.
* Previous experience of working in a secondary school science or DT department in a similar role (preferred)
