West Yorkshire Police are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to join our Estates and Business Services Directorate.
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior role working in a busy, enjoyable, and dynamic environment. You will have responsibility for key facilities contracts including repairs and maintenance, waste, cleaning, and PFI and lead a team of Facilities Officers and Maintenance Officers based across our Estate in West Yorkshire.
The role requires a well-rounded person who can maintain and drive performance, prioritise competing demands, problem solve, and foster improvement and efficiency.
The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the built environment, health and safety, sustainability, and compliance legislation and have experience leading the procurement and management of major facilities contracts. You will have the ability to translate business needs into contractual requirements and ensure reliable and resilient performance delivery across a portfolio of 50 sites. An excellent communicator, you will have the ability to manage a high-performing team of geographically dispersed staff and maintain productive and robust performance from key contractors, whilst able to control and report on key performance metrics and on the preparation, monitoring, and outturns of substantial revenue budgets.
You will work closely with a supportive Senior Leadership Team and a range of experienced technical, project, and facilities professionals, as you move into this rewarding role.
The position includes a substantial holiday entitlement and a defined benefit pension with a generous employer's contribution.
